The typical floor plan for most small offices is 4-6 Offices, Conference room , Breakroom, Reception area, and sometimes a server room or storage space.

Large Offices: “Movers with Knowledge” We define Large Office moves as an office that shares its square footage with a larger structure usually housing 4-1000s of other businesses each neighboring one another or an individual building with only one office . Commercial Spaces: “Movers with Knowledge ” We define Commercial Spaces as store fronts ,distributions centers, manufacturing centers and restaurants. The typical floor plan for most commercial spaces depends on the business it is for. Clothing stores will typically have a few back offices, sales floor with product, inventory & back storage room, sewing room and sometimes an office for a tailor or work station. Distribution centers usually have a few offices but mainly a floor with machinery for packaging and shipping, storage for product and orders going out or coming in, sales floor with a reception area, small break and or conference room. Manufacturing centers can be identical to distribution centers but have a workshop in addition to the packaging and shipping floor where the product is actually manufactured and then packaged and shipped. Restaurants will have the main floor for customers to sit and dine, the back kitchen and then a few back offices and storage areas.

Warehouses & Storages: “Movers with Knowledge” We define Warehouses & Storages as any enclosure that can house contents for an extended period of time. You have storage facilities where each storage unit shares their square footage with a larger structure usually housing hundreds of units each neighboring one another, most offices store extra products or office furniture in storages until they have time to use them. These facilities can be one story or higher and usually include an elevator with available carts to help transport the items to and from the loading area and storage if they are not indoor then they will typically be outdoor units with drive up access like a garage. Warehouses are typically one open floor plan with areas to store resources or products and then usually a small enclosure that houses 1-5 offices, a reception area/sales floor, Conference room, break room and server room or additional storage area.

Logistics

Logistic movesWhether you use professional movers or do it yourself it is important to keep in mind the logistics of each location you’re moving from and too. Your 10,000 square foot office space on the ground floor might be really easy to move everything out of, but let’s say you were moving into the 14th floor of a high rise office space in the middle of the city. Now you have to factor how elevator restrictions, parking restrictions, long carriers will affect your ability to move everything quickly. These factors can change a move that should have taken half a day into a full day just due to logistics alone.

Home Office Logistics:

One-Three Story Home Office will typically equate to an office or offices within a home that either has actual office space inside the home or a room or area inside the home converted into an office space. These will typically have the client’s personal household possessions intermixed with their office possessions or a house converted into a full office with each room now either an office, reception area, break room, conference room and storage or server room. If the house is multiple stories there will be flights of stairs to get to each landing that items may be on.

Small Office Logistics:

One-Three story Small Office buildings will typically equate to an office or offices being on the first, second or third floor and will involve one to two flights of stairs and parking lot access near the staircases or a long carrier through a court yard or around the building to get to the parking lot.

Four story Office buildings or highrises will have elevators and flights of stairs. Typically the elevator will be shared or reserved for the move. For reserved elevators these will typically take you out to a loading dock where a moving truck or vehicle can be parked to load and offload. Most four story buildings and highrises will have long carriers to and from the elevator on each landing as well as additional time to load the elevator, take it up or down and then offload the elevator, take it to the truck or office and then rinse and repeat.

Large Office Logistics:

One-Three story Small Office buildings will typically equate to an office or offices being on the first, second or third floor and will involve one to two flights of stairs and parking lot access near the staircases or a long carrier through a court yard or around the building to get to the parking lot.

Commercial Spaces Logistics:

One story Commercial Space will typically have access to a loading dock or large door for manufacturing centers and disruption centers, restaurants will have a large back door for getting large carts and appliances into the kitchen as well as the double doors going into the main dining area from the parking lot.

Two – Three story Commercial Space is essentially the same as above but there is an area with flights of stairs involved. For distribution centers and manufacturing centers most of the offices, conference rooms, break rooms, storage and materials used will be on the other floors since the machinery for most of these places will be too heavy to put on higher floors unless elevator or lift access is available. Same goes for restaurants, typically the kitchen will always stay on the ground floor and then you will have additional seating on the higher floors.

Warehouse & Storage Logistics:

Climate controlled storages are your typical indoor storage units within a larger facility. These can have long or short carriers dependent on the storage units location in the facility. They usually entail walking through the building up an elevator if the unit is on another floor through the isles of units until reaching the required storage unit for load or unload. For units on floors besides the ground also include additional time due to having to get all items to the elevator, load the elevator and then take it down, unload the elevator and load in the truck. Many indoor climate controlled storages provide moving carts to make getting contents into and out of the storage a lot more efficient.

Non-climate controlled storages are like rows of garages you can drive up to and get direct access to. These do not usually have long carriers since we can park the truck right next to the unit. Some outdoor units though can lead to interior hallways with smaller units that can create a bit of a long carrier depending on how far in the unit is in relation to the entry point into the back storages. These storages do not usually have carts available to help and purely have to rely on the equipment you have.

Warehouses are large spaces with dock height loading options where the truck can back right into the dock to load up the location or large doors that the truck can still back up to. These usually have large racks for storage that can be broken down or sometimes depending on the height be moved as whole. Sometimes a second story area for storage or offices.

Inventory

When taking into account your Offices inventory, it is good practice to familiarize yourself with the name of the item so when getting estimates for moving we can clearly identify the item being mentioned. It’s also important not to get too caught up in the dimensions since when it comes to moving it more so depends on the weight and volume being moved. Dimensions are more critical for unique items or requests such as getting a 300 lb gun safe up a spiral staircase and ensuring all the items will fit in the new office or location you are moving two.

Hazardous locations and items

If it was not for these two variables we would recommend more people to do their own moves. But like most offices your most likely have some larger items (Desks,Conference Tables, file cabinets, appliances) you want to have moved from your office and into your new location or you have long carriers and flights of stairs that with the added weight of the inventory there is no way you can or want to move these items on your own. Not to mention the risks these items pose to the location as well, no one wants to move out or into their new office and have a hefty repair bill for the drywall or fixing the damaged furniture item.

Why hire STRONG COLLEGE STUDENTS MOVING?

This was one of the best moving experiences I've ever had, and a great deal of that has to do with Strong College Students Movers. Trent, Stewart, and Kaden arrived promptly and got right to work. They worked quickly, but carefully. They were professional, friendly, and treated my possessions like they would their own. Tasha, who provided me with the quote and handled the logistics, was also extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with over the phone. Thank you very much.

I moved across west Texas twice in two years and used Strong College Students movers both times. I had two very positive experiences.Setting up both moves was easy. Tasha was so wonderfully polite, professional, and pleasant helping me book my recent move. (The gentleman who assisted me last year was just as great, but I do not remember his name.)The gentlemen who moved me each time were absolutely fantastic. They were punctual, efficient, experienced, and super nice guys, too. The prices for both moves were also very reasonable.I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to move. They are a class act all the way!

USE THEM if you have a move! Initially I spoke with Chris who gave me all the info I needed to make my decision for my move. During my packing I had mover's panic about not getting everything packed Chris listened then offered a solution. After receiving the promised courtesy call before arrival, they were prompt and friendly upon arrival. They came in, accessed what needed to be done and set right to work. I cannot emphasize how professional, friendly and completely efficient both Chris and David were, especially on unloading. All my belongings were protected and arrived in great shape, furniture was wrapped to prevent bumps. When looking for movers, check these guys out first. If I ever move again I know exactly where I'll go. Plus I really like the fact they work with student schedules and donate a portion of each move to a local scholarship fund.
